Bruce W. Madsen, M.D. – Physician & Surgeon
Dr. Madsen is a board certified ophthalmologist who has been practicing at Eyecare Associates in the Albany/Corvallis/Lebanon area since 2003. He grew up in Idaho and completed his undergraduate degree at Brigham Young University. He went on to graduate with honors and a Masters degree in Business Administration and Health Services Administration from Arizona State University. He took his love of hospital administration further and completed his medical school training at Finch University Health Sciences/The Chicago Medical School. Dr. Madsen then served as chief resident at the University of Texas Health Science Center where he developed skills in the latest technique of cataract surgery with refractive IOLs, as well as treatment for glaucoma, strabismus, and ocular plastics. He also provides emergency and routine eye care for children and adults.
Dr. Madsen enjoys working closely with optometry. His record shows that he is a strong advocate for building and maintaining strong relationships between optometry and ophthalmology. He is excited to extend his refractive surgery services to TLC Laser Eye Centers of Portland.
He and his wife Jennifer and their six children are very involved with their church. He is passionate about helping people. His interests include working with the Special Olympics, golfing, tennis, skiing, fishing, playing softball, and spending time with his family.
Landon Karren, D.O.
Dr. Landon Karren has a calm and welcoming disposition and is described as friendly, intelligent, and caring. People appreciate his engaging personality as well as his careful attention to detail. Born and raised in Northern Utah where his father helped run the family oil business, Dr. Karren spent his youth outdoors playing sports, camping, hiking, skiing, and mowing lawns. Graduating from Utah State University with a degree in Chemistry and Public Health, Dr. Karren continued his passion for the health sciences by conducting research at OHSU Casey Eye Institute where he published several papers on therapeutic approaches to uveitis and autoimmune retinopathy. He then went on to attend medical school at Touro University Nevada where he graduated with honors and was elected a member of the Sigma Sigma Phi Medical Honors Society. Dr. Karren finished his training at Ohio University-Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio, completing a traditional internship and Ophthalmology residency where he served as chief resident. In between his studies, Dr. Karren served two years in Sweden on a religious mission for his church. He has traveled to Belize on a medical mission performing cataract and other ocular surgeries for the medically underserved. Dr. Karren has enjoyed visiting the Oregon Coast his entire life and has summited both Mt. Hood and Mt. St. Helens. He is an avid golfer and is actively involved in his church. He values spending time with his wife and their four boys. Erika Bury, O.D.
Erika Bury, O.D., was born and raised in Maryland. Her undergraduate work was completed at Virginia Polytechnic and State University in 2009 where she earned her Bachelor of Science degrees in biology and nutrition with minors in psychology and chemistry. Erika went on to the New England College of Optometry in Boston, Massachusetts and in 2014 received her doctorate degree in Optometry. She is currently working towards a Masters in Nutrition.
Erika is joining our team at Oregon Eye Physicians & Surgeons at both the Sherwood and Newberg offices. She will be working together with the other doctors performing full scope care including vision exams, contact lens fittings as well as medical care for all patients.
Erika enjoys traveling, hiking, swimming, competing in triathlons and playing lacrosse. She is also an active member of the Leukemia and Lymphoma society as an ambassador for the Team in Training program.
David Wolf, O.D. – Optometric Physician
Dr. Wolf received his Bachelor of Science from Pacific University in 1981 and his Doctor of Optometry in 1983 from Pacific University College of Optometry. He purchased Lake Oswego Vision Clinic in 1998 after practicing in Eugene for 15 years. Dr. Wolf is active in several professional organizations, including the American Optometric Association, and the Oregon Optometric Association. He is currently the Oregon state professional representative for Vision Service Plan.
After 25 years in the eye care field, Dr. Wolf saw an opportunity to serve patients from a medical and Ophthalmic perspective and in 2007, he founded Oregon Eye Physicians & Surgeons. He maintains a busy schedule operating both clinics. Dr. Wolf believes that, “listening to each patient and treating each as an individual is the most important thing I can do. If I take the time to truly listen to the patient’s needs and challenges, it is easier to find the best solution for each patient visit.”
